  On the Rock or on the Sand?

Jesus said,

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." Matthew 24-27.

Jesus here is making a simple statement about himself. He is telling us that we should put our trust in him. That our faith should be built on his teachings. That if we do so, when troubles come our faith will remain strong, enabling us to endure what life throws at us.

If we don’t every thing will come crashing down around us.

In the book of Proverbs we read,

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5,6.

Are you building your house on the rock that is Jesus?

Are you trusting in God with all your heart?
