Jesus and God

 Jesus and God

In John’s gospel we read,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men....

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. " John 1:1-4,14.

Here in a nut shell is what Christians believe. We believe that God made the heavens and the earth. But we do not stop there. We believe that Jesus and God are one. That God in the form of Jesus entered the world He created to point mankind to heaven.

The apostle John tells us Jesus said,

"I and the Father are one." John 10:30.

The apostle Paul explains

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8.

That being said neither I or anyone else can force you to believe this.

As Yeshayahu Leibowitz, a Judaic scholar and professor of biochemistry said,

“You can ‘t force people to do what they don't want to do, to feel what they don't feel.  If someone wills one thing, you cannot tell it to will another.  It has to come from within.” Yeshayahu Leibowitz.

So what do you believe?
