Put on love
In the book of Colossians we read,
“Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:12-17.
This is what a Christian is called to do,
Clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
We are to bear with each other.
Forgive any grievance we have against one another.
We are to forgive as God forgave us.
Above all we are to love.
The writer telling us that it is love which binds all these attributes in perfect unity.
