Love

Love
Jesus when asked,
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40
Today is Valentines day. Here in Canada while not an official holiday, lovers exchange gifts most often of chocolate or other sentimental things that make their lover feel good.
Unfortunately all too often people associate love with a physical act or some feel good emotion. When the act is completed or the emotion ends so it seems dose their love.
True love however transcends any physical act or emotion.
The apostle Paul defined what true love is when he wrote,
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails....”
                                                1 Corinthians 13:4-8a.
Is this the kind of love you show to others?
Please think about it.
