The apostle Paul writes,
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9.
Put simply the apostle Paul is saying you can’t work your way to heaven. The only way you get to heaven is by having faith in God. Salvation is a gift we receive for believing in God and His son Christ Jesus.
In the book of Hebrews we read,
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6.
To my way of thinking having faith in anything especially if you can’t see it is very hard to do. That is why I believe God asks us to have faith in Him. Because God knows people who have true faith will go to their graves for their beliefs.
