Jesus gives us a job

Jesus gives us a job

"The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they display knowledge.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard."

                                                                                             Psalm 19:1-3.

I over the years have listened with interest to discussions among Christians about creation. Some believing in the six twenty-four hour day theory. While some believe the creation is billions of years old, the so called “old earth theory”.

For me this is an unimportant question. I believe, Genesis when it states,

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

                                                                                        Genesis 1:1.

I believe the apostle John when he states,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men....

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. " John 1:1-4,14.

Exactly how God created the universe and everything in it doesn’t matter. The fact is he is God and could have done it either way.

For me as a Christian the most important thing is, is that there is a God who loves us and wants to fellowship with us. Jesus said,

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.". John 3:16, 17.

In Matthew Jesus give all who believe in him a job. He states,

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.

This is what we should be doing. To do less is to potentially sent someone into a Christless eternity.

Please think about it.
