The ultimate statistic
The apostle Paul wrote,
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1Timothy 2:1-4
According to the Kennedy institute for Ethics, 65 million people die each year in the world. That is
178,000 each day,
7425 each hour,
120 each minute.
Bottom line we do not get out of this life alive. The question however becomes where will you spend eternity?
It is the duty of all who believe in Christ Jesus to pray for those around them. Everyone from political leaders down to the person on the street.
It is the job of a true believer in Christ to present the message of Christ to the world around them.
Jesus speaking of himself said,
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son". John 3:16-18.
These words of Jesus in a nutshell show how to get to heaven. Thus what it comes down to is whether or not someone believes them.
