What have you Done?

  What have you done

The apostle Paul writes,

"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,  his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.

If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.

If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15.

Many years ago my first pastors wife was fond of saying,

“we have only one life.

It will soon be past,

only what is done for Christ will last”

Here in the above scripture the apostle Paul is giving us a warning. He’s telling us that Jesus Christ is the foundation of our lives and that we should not build on it using earthly materials however precious they are.

Gold, silver costly stones in heaven will like wood, hay and straw be consumed by the fire leaving only what we have done for Christ.

So my question to you dear reader is; what have you done for Christ?

Please think about it.
