Christian are you committed?

Christian are you committed?

The Psalmist states,

“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever.

I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints. Psalm 52:8,9.

The Psalmist here states that he trusts in God’‘s unfailing love and that as a result of it he has hope and will praise God in the presence of God’s people.

If you claim to be a true believer in Christ Jesus do you truly praise God when you are at church. OR has church become a social club where you meet friends and acquaintances. Is church a place you attend simply because your friends and family have always gone?

How committed are you to God?

Please think about it.

Would you be willing?

 Would you be willing?

In the book of Acts we read

"His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ." Acts 5:40-42.

I think it’s unfair to ask anyone if they think they could suffer what the apostles did for their belief in Christ Jesus.

That being said it is something all believers must consider. Especially here in North America where being a believer in Christ Jesus is easy.

In many countries around the world today being a Christian can get you thrown out of your family or village. Can get you beaten, thrown in jail. Even put in a concentration camp or murdered. All because you believe in The Son of God. The Prince of Peace.

So if you consider yourself a Christian, a true believer in Christ Jesus, would you be willing to be thrown out of your family, your community, beaten, thrown in prison or even to die for what you believe.

Please think carefully about it.

Dedicated to God

  Dedicated to God.

In the book of Deuteronomy we read,

"Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up

You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

How dedicated to God are you?

Do you,

“...love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”?

Is your faith so much a part of your life that even without saying anything people who see you know you are a believer in Christ Jesus?

Francis of Assisi wrote,

“Preach the Gospel at all times

and when necessary use words.”

                                                Francis of Assisi.

Is this what you are doing?

Please think about it.

Is God

Is God
The Psalmist writes of God,
"You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word."
                                                       Psalm 119:114
Can you make that claim? Do you truly put your trust in God at all times? Sadly many people only turn to God when they are in need of help.
Mike W. Blottenberger in his poem A midnight Conversation with God asks the question,

God, why is it
that the only time
I swim back to You
is when the sharks
are about to eat me?
I could harbour my soul
in your crystal, clear waters
but instead
I allow the undertow
to carry me far from You
and out into
the black, salty waters
where danger lurks
with each crashing wave
and where my feet
never touch the bottom.
                                        Mike W. Blottenberger
Blottenberger doesn’t answer the question. That being said it is a question many people must answer.
Why is it only in bad times that we draw close to God? The only conclusion I can come to is those who turn to God only in bad times is that they believe in God but do not fully trust in Him. They have not made God an integral part of their life.
Many years ago when I asked Christ into my life. I was told being a Christian is not just going to church on Sunday or attending other Christian events.
Being a Christian is a lifestyle. As Christians our lives must reflect that of Jesus.
The apostle Peter writes,
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Dear friends,
I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us." 1 Peter 2:9-12.
If you claim to be a Christian. A true follower of Christ Jesus. A believer in God. Is God an integral part of your life?
Please think about it.

Make sure

Make sure
The Psalmist writes,
“I wait for the LORD,
 my soul waits,
and in his word I put my hope.”
                                    Psalm 130:5
If you claim to be a Christian, where is your trust. Billy Graham the American evangelist wrote,
"Make sure of your commitment to Jesus Christ, and seek to follow Him every day. Don't be swayed by the false values and goals of this world, but put Christ and His will first in everything you do." Billy Graham.
In Proverbs we read,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
                                                        Proverbs 3:5,6.
Here is a question for all who claim to be followers in Christ Jesus. Do you truly “trust in the LORD with all your heart?”
Please think about it.

Four Questions

Four Questions
The Apostle Paul writes,
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 2Timothy 2:15.
Billy Graham the American evangelist stated,
“Make sure of your commitment to Jesus Christ, and seek to follow Him every day. Don't be swayed by the false values and goals of this world, but put Christ and His will first in everything you do.”Billy Graham.
four questions for anyone who claims to be a Christian. A follower of Christ Jesus.
1/Are you a workman approved of God?
2/Is your commitment to Christ pure?
3/Have you let the false values and goals of this world enter your life and water down your commitment to Jesus?
4/Do you truly put Christ and His will first in everything you do?
Please if you believe you are true follower of Christ Jesus, Pray and ask God to show you if you truly are a workman approved by Him.
Please think about it.
