Faith in God

Faith in God.
“What does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” ....
It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith...
Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,
being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”
The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone,  but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification”
                                                                                           Romans 4:3,13,20-25
Belief in God, faith in God, that is what justifies us.  We are sinners, the Bible makes that clear.  We deserve death, but God loves us enough that He offers us clemency through faith.  Paul makes this clear when he says:
“being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he(Abraham) had promised.
Abraham and all the great men of God mentioned in the Bible made mistakes, they sinned and fell short of what God expected of them.  Yet, God forgave them because of their faith.
Our God knows our heart.  He knows us completely.  Psalms 139:13-16 reads:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
God knows our makeup, as I read Psalm 139, it tells me in modern day terms, God knows our very genetic code.  He knows what it in our hearts and minds and why we do what we do.
He knows whether or not our faith is genuine.
Men may question our motives even our faith, but God knows for certain the extent of our belief in Him.
The apostle Paul writes
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast,”
                                                                   Ephesians 2:8,9.
Is your faith in God?
Think about it.
