Madman or God?

Madman or God?
In Matthews gospel we read of this conversation between Peter and Jesus. Matthew records,
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Matthew 16:,15,16,
In John’s gospel we read of this conversation between Martha and Jesus. John records,
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;  and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes Lord” she told Him, “I believe you are the Christ the Son of God, who was to come into the world,” John 11:25,26,27.
In John’s gospel we also read,
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6.
All of what I have mentioned above are part of the foundation of Christianity. You cannot be a Christian without believing these scriptures. Jesus was no ordinary man.
C. S. Lewis said of Jesus,
"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.
If what Christians, believers in Christ Jesus, say is false then anyone who disagrees with have nothing to fear.
If on the other hand we are right then it has eternal consequences.
Please think about it.
