Spotless, Blameless, at Peace,
The apostle Peter writes,
"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.
That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 2 Peter 3:10-14.
We do not know when Christ will return. The Bible only states He will return. Thus it is imperative that we as believers in Christ Jesus are living as good a life as we can.
Now no one is perfect and we all stumble and fall from time to time. That being said we as believers are called to live a good life.
Living a good life not only helps us in getting to heaven. It attracts others to Christ. Jesus saying,
"In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" Matthew 5:16.
So the question becomes; do you believe you are living a good life?
Are you doing all you can to be found spotless, blameless at peace with God?
Please think about it.
