A simple question

 A simple question

The Psalmist writes,

“Praise the LORD. 

Praise God in his sanctuary;

 praise him in his mighty heavens. 

Praise him for his acts of power; 

praise him for his surpassing greatness. 

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, 

praise him with the harp and lyre, 

praise him with tambourine and dancing,

 praise him with the strings and flute, 

praise him with the clash of cymbals,

 praise him with resounding cymbals. 

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. 

Praise the LORD.” 

                                Psalm 150


Here is a simple question if you consider yourself a Christian, a believer in Christ Jesus. How often do you take time when you are not in church to praise God?

Perhaps its true

  Perhaps its true

“In the beginning God 

created the heavens and the earth.” 

                                             Genesis 1:1

Here’s an interesting thought. C. S. Lewis noted,

"Atheist express their rage against God although in their vew He does not exist", C. S. Lewis.

Around the world today there are Atheist, people who say that God does not exist yet they rage against Him and those who believe in Him.

There are atheist governments that ban Christianity yet they say God does not exist. It defies logic. How can someone or something that doesn’t exist hurt you.

And when it comes to Christianity the apostle Paul tells Christians,

“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,  to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.”Titus 3:1,2.

True Christians make model citizens. They pray for the their government officials. They pray that God will guide their country.

Yet still around the world Christians are thrown into prison, into labour, camps even murdered, simply because they express belief in God.

Like I said it defies logic.

perhaps it’s true what Thomas Aquinas said,

“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” Thomas Aquinas.

Who are they afraid of?

  Who are they afraid of?

In Matthews gospel we read of this incident when the Magi arrived,

"Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.  

He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."... 

On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.  

And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. 

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." 

So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son." 

When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.” Matthew 2:7-16

Herod feared that Jesus was the Messiah that is why he ordered the murder of the children in the vicinity of Bethlehem in an effort to kill him.

In the twenty-first century we have governments and others who say God does not exist. They say Jesus was at least just a man. If so why are they persecuting those who believe in Him?

After all this was a man who preached love thy neighbour. Who said do to others what you would have others do to you. Who's disciples said pray for the government and rulers. 

  Around the world today thousands,... tens of thousands of believers in Christ Jesus are imprisoned for believing in Jesus. For believing in God almighty. Thousands of believers are being persecuted and even put to death for what they believe.

If everything about Jesus is untrue then why persecute people who believe in a myth. 

My only conclusion can be is that everything about Jesus is true and those who oppose him believe this. 

They believe Jesus when he said,

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son". John 3:16-18

As for me I have no doubt that everything the bible says about Jesus, about God is true and that he will one day bring all those who oppose him to justice.

Want to be first?

Want to be first?
Marks gospel records,
“Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve (disciples) and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:35.
What Jesus is saying here is just the opposite of what the world thinks. To the secular mind to be first is to excel in a given area. To be the best of the best. To be foremost in position, rank, or importance. Yet Jesus states,
“If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.” 
Having a servants heart is difficult for many people. It means you are quite often at the beck and call of others.
If this pandemic has shown us anything it is that there are many people who serve that go unnoticed. Men and women who work as janitors, garbage collectors and other service job. Jobs that quite often are low paying. Yet are jobs essential to the health and well being of our society.  Jobs many people would not apply for considering such professions to be beneath their dignity to work at.
Yet Jesus tells us that to be first, we must be servant of all.
Thus my question to you especially if you consider yourself a Christian, a follower of Christ Jesus. Do you have a servants heart? Are you willing to be servant to all?

Instrument of Peace

Instrument of Peace
The apostle Paul wrote,
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:15-17.
Question is what the apostle Paul saying true about you?
Does the peace of Christ rule in your heart?
When you do things both in word and deed, do you do it in the name of Christ?
As Christians we do need to live our lives differently. People should know we are believers in Christ Jesus by our life and life style without us saying a word.
Francis of Assisi wrote,
“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” 
                                                                    Francis of Assisi
Can you truly say and mean what Francis of Assisi wrote?

About Jesus

About Jesus
Jesus speaking to Martha said,
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;  and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes Lord” she told Him, “I believe you are the Christ the Son of God, who was to come into the world,” John 11:25,26,27.
In my previous blog I noted that in order to be a true believer in Christ Jesus you must believe that Jesus is God incarnate, God in the flesh. You must believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins.
If Jesus is not all he claimed to be then Christianity is meaningless. C. S. Lewis writing about Jesus said,
“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Thus the Choice is yours. Do you believe Jesus is God incarnate, God in the flesh, The Saviour of mankind?

Sound Advice

Sound Advice
The apostle Peter writes,
“Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.  
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.  
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. 
He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:8-12.
Here to my mind is some good and logical advice to all who would believe in Christ Jesus. Peter tells us,
1. Live in harmony with one another,
2. Love as brothers,
3. Be compassionate and humble
4. Do not repay evil with evil, insult with insult, but with blessing.
5. Keep your tongue from evil speech.
6. Seek peace and pursue it.
Peter then adds a seventh point, “the eyes of the Lord are no the righteous and he ears are attentive t their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
Even if you are not a believer in Christ Jesus. Living your life by these ideals is a good way to live your life.

Sinner to Saint

Sinner to Saint
The apostle Paul writes,
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.  
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.  1 Timothy 1:15,16.
The apostle Paul makes it very clear why Christ Jesus came into this world. That being to save sinners.
Writing to the Romans Paul states,
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.
Prior to that Paul wrote,
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”  Romans 3:23,24.
Paul notes to Timothy that he was the worst of sinners.
The book of Acts tells of how Paul then called Saul, persecuted the early church until God took hold of his life in a miraculous way.
Paul is an example for all who would follow Christ that no matter how bad your life is, truly accepting Christ into your life can result in a changed life.
This is the message that Paul is telling Timothy. It is the message Jesus wants the Christians to tell the world. Jesus said,
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
As I have said in previous blog posts Christians believe God through Jesus Christ reached down to mankind and offered forgiveness of sins and eternal life with Him.
The Bible also makes it clear how we get to heaven. It come down to who you think Jesus is and what his purpose on this earth was for,
Jesus speaking of himself said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, 
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
 but to save the world through him.” 
John 3:16,17.
Jesus speaking to his apostles said,
... “I am the way and the truth and the life. 
No one comes to the Father except through me.”  
John 14:6
   Paul writing to the Romans said,
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
 Romans 3:23,24.
Sinning is falling short of what God wants for you life. Sin separates us from God.
The apostle John noting,
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins 
and purify us from all unrighteousness.  
If we claim we have not sinned, 
we make him out to be a liar
 and his word has no place in our lives.” 
1 John 1:9,10.
Paul make it clear salvation is not something we can work for. Paul writing to the Ephesians stating,
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
 not by works, so that no one can boast.”  
 Ephesians 2:8,9
Ultimately salvation is an act of faith, Hebrews stating,
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, 
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists 
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”
Hebrews 11:6
Faith defined as,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for 
and certain of what we do not see.” 
 Hebrews 11:1
What do you believe?

Post Script
The Bible tells us Sinning is falling short of God’s ideal for your life. God realized that man could not live a life good enough to stand before Him. That is why Jesus came to pay the price for the sins of all who would truly believe in him.
A Saint in the new Testament is a believer in Christ. A believer in God.
So by admitting you are a sinner, believing in and receiving God’s saving grace that comes through Jesus Christ. You can go from sinner to Saint and have eternal life with God.

Headed to Hell?

Headed to Hell?
My wife at one time was a librarian and to say she has a few books is an understatement. The walls of our house are lined with books.
One book entitled "Essentials in Christian Faith" by John B. Harrington, published in 1958, could have been written yesterday.
   It opens with this quote from Paul Gallico in Esquire Magazine in 1948:
"A writer in a popular magazine has written the following words; 'We are all, if you will pardon the expression, Headed for Hell in a handbarrow. If, ever the people of the world stood in need of a spiritual revival, it is now. We are beginning to poison the face of the earth with our miserable presence. The brakes are off. The cart of the world is sliding down the way greased with hatred, ambition, lies, self-seeking and avarice toward the pit.’"
Harrington notes that Gallico makes no pretense of being "a religious man" noting that "...for him it is precisely religion in its organized forms which has in part caused the situation he deplores. He is careful to state that it is not "religion" for which he is looking. For in his opinion, religion throughout the history of our culture has advanced its control over human beings by the investment of bigotry and persecution. 
Yet, out of despair over the current human situation he says; ‘The voice for which my heavy spirit is yearning must reach us all... 
For if it is not heard, we are lost. Something beyond our material enrichment and lust for power and position, some rewards founded on good will, selflessness, and the innate dignity of the human spirit...honour, humility, decency  courage."
Another Paul writing to a member of the first century church wrote the following,
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" 
                                                                                                         2 Timothy 3:1-4
If Paul Gallico is right and I believe he is, mankind is considerably nearer the bottom of that slope than he was in 1948. Moreover at the bottom of that slope is a very deep lake filled with fire and brimstone.
   We only have to look around us to see the world is filled with people who are out to feed their lusts. Men and women who seek power no matter the cost.
We look to the terrorist of the world who wish to force their ideologies on people. Who seek power by the sword.
There are also such people within the western world. Men and women who use their power and influence to feed their greed.
While there are many super rich and others of wealth that have pledged to help the poor. There are many, many more that are using the poor and weak of our society to fill their pockets.
Many owners of industry have refused to think about the environment or worker safety until laws were passed forcing them to think about it.
Our society has fallen away from God and the further it falls the worse it gets. Man needs God. Man needs to realize that there is ultimately a God to answer too.
The writer of Ecclesiastes states,
“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole  duty  of man. 
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” 
Ecclesiastes12:13,14.
 Until all men realize there is a God to answer to however our world is destined to get a lot worse.
I truly believe the answer to the worlds problems lies in having faith in God and following his precepts who Jesus said,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” 
                                                         Matthew 11:28-30.

Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness
Abba Hillel Silver wrote,
“Faith in God is the strongest bulwark of a free society.  Human freedom began when men became conscious that over and above society and nature there is a God who created them...who fashioned them in His likeness, and that they are, therefore, possessed of intrinsic and independent significance and are endowed, as individuals, with original and irrevocable rights and authority.

The framers of the United States Declaration of Independence recognized what Abba Hillel Silver wrote. They wrote,
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
Words from the United States Declaration of Independence.
Freedom perhaps is mankind’s most sought after ideal. But freedom is much more than to be free to do as you wish. Freedom is more than freedom from government oppression.
Freedom is the ability to let others do what they wish no matter how much you disagree with them. Provided that is they are not harming anyone or any thing. As it has been said,
 “your freedom stops short of your fist hitting my face.”
When God created man, He gave man complete freedom to do as he wished. That freedom included the right to believe in Him or not.
That freedom included the right to live life they way the individual whished. Even if it is a life not pleasing to God.
Sadly many Zealots, be they Christian, Atheist, those of other faiths or Terrorist, are blind either deliberately or without realizing it to what true freedom means. They want things their way.
You cannot impose freedom on anyone. Like I said true freedom is allowing people to do as they wish providing they do not cause harm to anyone or any thing.
We as people living in a free democracy need to realize that fact, and be willing to stand up for the rights of even those with whom we vehemently disagree.
Rabbi Benjamin Blech wrote,
“In the aftermath of Nazi Germany we must once and for all understand that culture and crematoria are not mutually exclusive.  Scientific progress does not ensure moral protection, nor can secular humanism produce saints.  People will always find reasons to justify any kind of behaviour.
-Rabbi Benjamin Blech, congregational rabbi and ancient professor of Talmud, Understanding Judaism.  The Basics of Deed and Creed (1991).
Martin Niemoller wrote,
“When they came for the Communists, I did not stand up, because I was not a Communist. When they came for the Jews, I did not stand up, because I was not Jewish. When they came for the Catholics, I did not stand up, because I was not a Catholic. When they came for me, there was no one left to stand up.”

Niemoller knew what he was talking about. He seen first hand what happened in Nazi Germany.
For me the best way to ensure freedom is to practice what Jesus taught. To love God, our neighbour and even our enemy.
To do follow the words Jesus said when he said,
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets”
Matthew 7:12.

God, Time, Freedom, Man, Events
“God created time and gave man complete freedom,
to make the events.”

I make no apologies I am a Christian. I believe God created the universe and everything in it. I believe God gave man complete freedom to do and believe as he wishes. That includes the freedom not to believe in him.
I believe God gives each and every person a lifetime to decide whether they will accept Him into their lives.
I believe that we as individuals through interaction with other individuals and our environment decide our own fate. No one can decide for us.
I believe that God in the form of His Son Jesus Christ reached down to us and offers us life eternal with him if we would just have faith in him.
The writer of Hebrews states,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” 
                                                                                                                              Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.’
                                                                                                        Hebrews 11:6.
The apostle Paul writing to the Athenians said,
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.  
And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.  
From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.  
God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”  
                                        Acts 17:24-27.
I know there are many who says there is no God. There are others saying if God is real then why doesn’t he show himself to us?
The answer to the second question is simple God has in the form of His one and only Son Jesus.
God however wants more. He I’m sure realizes it easy to have faith in something you can see. To believe in something you can touch. It takes a great deal more trust to believe in something you cannot see. Thus the need for faith.
Not necessarily blind faith. God shows himself in various ways. Through the world around us. Through the words of the Prophets in the Bible and of course through Jesus.
Jesus in a nutshell gives man the choice he must make saying,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”. 
                                                                                                                               John 3:16-18.
Thus the choice is yours dear reader. Believe Jesus is all He said He is or not. No one can decide for you. Your fate and eternal resting place is in your hands.
If what the Bible says is not true then you have nothing to fear. If however it is true then you have at the very least something to seriously think about.

“You exist!”
                                   “Of course I exist!”
“But I couldn’t see you?
I couldn’t touch you?”
                                             “I know. 
                                 I wanted it that way.”

“Why?”
                                       Because I wanted you
                                    To have faith.”
“But you could have showed
yourself in the flesh.”
                                          “I did.
                                I sent my Son Jesus.
                          He died for the sins of all who
                                 would believe in Him.
                        I even raised him from the dead.
“But that’s unbelievable.
It can’t be true.”
                                    “But it is. 
                                                                                 Why would anyone make that up?
                                And you had the choice.
                                   I gave you a freewill 
                            To believe what you wished.
                                 You exercised yours.
“But you could have
showed yourself to me.”
                                     “I did.
                                Through creation,
                             Through my prophets,
                               Through the Bible,
                   Through My One and Only Son.
                    I gave you a life time of chances.”
So what will happen to me?
                                                Jesus said,

An Eternal LIght

An Eternal  Light

“Simeon took him (Jesus) in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. 
For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, 
a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.” 
The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.  
Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed.”
                                                           Luke 2:28-35.
The above portion of scripture notes the time when Joseph and Mary take the infant Jesus to the temple to fulfil their duty under the law.
A man Simeon who’d been told he would not die until he seen The Lords Christ sees Jesus takes Jesus in his arms and proclaims him the Christ.
He notes that Jesus will be “a light for revelations to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel” That he will be a “a sign that will be spoken against,...”
Jesus certainly was all of that. The Gospel writers tell how Jesus was spoken against particularly by the religious leaders of his day. He was also bring glory to Israel in that through them the seed of Abraham The Saviour of the world had come as a light to the Gentiles.
What is said here by Luke is one of the core beliefs of Christians.
While Jews may not admit nor for that matter people of other faiths, that Jesus is the Saviour of the world, the suffering Messiah who took upon Himself the sins of the world, Christians do.
I know that I may not be able to convince people be they Jews, those of other faiths or even atheist that Jesus is the Son of God, the Saviour of the world.
I firmly believe it is my duty to Christ, to God, to present what I believe to be true.
What I believe is summed up in the Apostles creed. And while the creed may not have been written by the apostles it does some up in brief what all Christians believe. It states,
1. I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
2. And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
3. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
4. Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:
5. The third day he rose again from the dead:
6. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
7. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead:
8. I believe in the Holy Ghost:

“Christians believe in the doctrines of the Apostle's Creed, are convinced that the Scriptures have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, and make having a personal transforming relationship with the resurrected Christ the touch tone of their faith.”

This is what I believe and wish to present to the world.
I would ask people everywhere to learn about the Christian faith by reading the New Testament with an open mind. By praying and asking God to reveal the truth to you personally. For it is my belief, within the pages of the New Testament is the way to life everlasting with God.

Christian Belief

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,  but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.  
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.  
So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. 
For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father’” ? 
Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son” ? 
  And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire.” 
But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. 
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” 
                                                                                   Hebrews 1:1-9.
Here is sound Christian belief. The writer of Hebrews telling us several important things about Jesus,
1/“but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.”  
2/“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”
3/ The writer notes that the Son (Jesus), provided purification for our sins.  
“After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
4/ Jesus is superior to the angels.
“So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”
5/The writer noting that God said, 
“I will be his Father, and he will be my Son” 
6/The writer saying,
“And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” 
7/Then finally the writer says,
“...about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. 
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
In conclusion
Jesus is the Son of God, the creator of the universe, the Saviour of the world. The one who died for our sins. And His throne will last for ever and ever.
You cannot be a Christian if you do not believe this.
You cannot enter heaven if you do not believe in Jesus.
Jesus said,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”.
