An Observation

An Observation
The Psalmist wrote,
“The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
                                      Psalm 14:1.
Billy Graham the great American Evangelist said,
“I can't prove it scientifically, that there's a God, but I believe.”
                                                                                        Billy Graham.
I’m with Billy Graham on this. We may not be able to sit down and make a scientific formula that proves the existence of God. That however doesn’t preclude his existence.
We can however see God’s handiwork. The Psalmist telling us,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
                                                             Psalm 19:1.
I do not believe that the universe came into existence randomly that takes more faith than I have. I can however see the hand of God the creator in the universe.
Just take a look around from the largest galaxies to the smallest subatomic particle every thing is perfectly harmonized to create life as we know it. This to me suggests there is a creator.
I’m not hung up on whether God created the world in billions of years or in six days. Such a thing is immaterial to my faith.
The fact of the matter is I believe God exists and the more I see and observe the world around me the more I see His hand.
Furthermore I believe the God that created the heavens and the earth entered this world in the form of His one and only Son Jesus Christ. He did this in order to point mankind to heaven.
Yes I know this sounds at the very least foolishness but I believe it is true. The Apostle Paul wrote.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness
 to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved
it is the power of God.”
                                  1 Corinthians 1:18.
I think all too often man want’s God to operate the way he thinks things should be done. God however does not do this. God works in his own ways.
It would be very easy for God to show himself and force everyone to worship Him but God does not want that. In creating mankind he made each individual unique, with a freewill to do as they wished even if it meant not believing in Him.
God requires the individual to have faith in him. The writer of Hebrews stating,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.”
                                                       Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                                           Hebrews 11:6.
God I believe has shown Himself to mankind in various ways, the creation of the universe being just one way, the Hebrew prophets was another, the Bible yet another, and even by entering the Universe he created in the form of his one and only Son Jesus Christ.
The writer of Hebrews telling us,
“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” Hebrews 1:1-3
This is what I and all Christians believe. The choice however is entirely up to you the reader.
Please think about it.

Look Deep int Nature

Look Deep into Nature
Albert Einstein one of the greatest scientist ever to live made an interesting statement. He said,
“Look deep into nature,
and then you will understand everything better.”
                                                                 Albert Einstein
The psalmist writing several millenniums before Einstein’s birth wrote,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                              Psalm 19:1-3.
I have always been of the opinion that science done correctly will show there is a creator behind it all. And science seems to be heading in that direction.
Scientist are looking into nature. They are seeing that everything from the largest galaxies to the smallest subatomic particles have all come together to allow life as we know it here on earth to exist.
To me that speaks of a creator.
Einstein noted,
“Human beings vegetables  or cosmic dust.
We all dance to a mysterious tune,
intoned in the distance by an invisible player.”
                                                              Albert Einstein.
I don’t know whether or not Einstein believed in God. I do know that his statement about we all being cosmic dust, dancing to a tune played an invisible player is true.
The Bible tells me,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.
In other words God created the very cosmic dust that makes up the Earth the Universe and everything in it, including mankind.
God is that “invisible player” Einstein spoke of.
The apostle Paul speaking in Athens said,
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.
And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.
From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.
God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”  Acts 17:24-27.
Mankind and the universe are God’s creation. But God did not make robots programmed to follow his every command. God gave man a freewill. In doing so he gave man the right to believe in him or not.
That being said, God asks each individual to believe in him by faith, but not blind faith, by informed faith.
God challenges the individual to look into the natural world and see how it is all interconnected. To see the intelligent design behind it all. Then decide where they will place their faith.
Thus the choice is yours. Do you believe in God or not?
Please think about it.

An Invisible Player

An Invisible Player
Albert Einstein said,
“Human beings vegetables  or cosmic dust. We all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible player.”  Albert Einstein
Stephen Hawking noted,
“It would be very difficult to explain why the universe should have begun in just this way, except as the act of a God who intended to create beings like us,”Stephen Hawking,
Dr. Arno Penzias 1978 Nobel Prize winner in Physics has stated,
“Astronomy leads us to a unique event, a universe which was created out of nothing, one with a very delicate balance needed to provide exactly the conditions required to permit life and one which has an underlying (one might say ‘supernatural’) plan.” Dr. Arno Penzias.
The Bible States,
“In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth.”
                                                 Genesis 1:1.
The New Testament states,
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men....
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. ” John 1:1-4,14.
It has been my observation over the years that the one thing scientist and people of faith have in common is faith.
A scientist will study something carefully, come up with a theory as to how it works or was created, then even if at the time he or she cannot prove it, will believe in that theory until it has been proven or proved to be wrong.
Eienstein is a good example some of his theories were not proven correct until after his death.
Scientist also have another thing in common with people of faith. They study their subject carefully to see they have got everything right.
For me, a believer in Christ Jesus that means I study the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament and the world around me in order to see if my belief in God is correct.
The Psalmist wrote,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                               Psalm 19:1-3.
This statement is proven by many scientist that have studied the world around them. The world, the universe we live in has a creator.
Still having said this, I believe each individual needs to be looking for God in order to find him. Faith in God is just that an act of faith. Which is what God wants. The writer of Hebrews telling us,
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
 because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                                               Hebrews 11:6.
Please think about it.

A Time is Coming

A Time is Coming
The Psalmist writes,
“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
                                            Psalm 46:10.
Here the Psalmist tells us that ultimately God will be exalted among the nations. That God will be exalted throughout the earth.
There are many in the world today both individuals, and governments, who refuse to accept the fact that God exists. Ultimately this means nothing. As C. S. Lewis states,
“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.” C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain.
There are many in the world today who would say why hasn’t God shown Himself to mankind. The answer is simple. He has. The Psalmist tells us,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                                   Psalm 19:1-3.
That being said God wants us to have faith in Him. The writer of Hebrews states,
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
 and
certain of what we do not see.”
                                                 Hebrews 11:1
“And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists
 and
that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
                                                               Hebrews 11:6.
Faith in someone or something unseen, as I have written in previous blog posts can be very difficult for some people. Yet God knows people who have faith in anything are the strongest followers.
Having said that everyone in the world will one day see God face to face. In the meantime He is simply giving each individual the opportunity to believe in Him.
Billy Graham the American evangelist said,
“The Bible says today is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation... But there will come a time when it will be too late for you." Billy Graham
  The apostle Peter wrote,
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.” 2 Peter 3:9,10.
Question: Do you believe in God?
The choice to believe in God or not is yours. No one can, or should, impose their beliefs on you. You have a freewill to choose what you wish to believe.
All I would ask is that you at least take time to read the New Testament and decide for yourself if God is real.
Please think about it.

Something to Consider

Something to consider
Job looked up into the heavens somewhere around the tenth century BC and noted,
“He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.”
                           Job 26:7
Thousands of years later the crew of Apollo 17 took the picture above proving Job was right.
Someone has said,
“The Earth is if you will a self sufficient organic extremely complex spacecraft. It is orbiting the sun at 250km/second. The sun is moving around the centre of the universe at 660km/second. All of this including its exact positioning in the universe make it possible for life to exist as we know it.”
That to me speaks to the fact there is a creator behind everything.
The book of Genesis states,
In the beginning God created
 the heavens and the earth.”
                             Genesis 1:1
The Psalmist writes,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
                                            Psalm 19:1.
Everything from the smallest subatomic particle to the largest galaxy has its place in the Universe so that life can exist on this planet.
Scientist tell us that just a little closer to the sun or a little further away and life would not exist as we know it.
Someone once asked me if I believed if there is life on other planets. I replied I don’t know. However even if there were it would not affect my belief in God.
I believe God exists it’s that simple. If I am wrong I have nothing to fear. I have simply led a good life by following Him.
If on the other hand I am right those who do not believe in God have much to fear.
What do you believe?
Please think about it.

A Fundamental Truth

A Fundamental Truth.
The book of Genesis states,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.
This statement sums up the first two chapters of the book of Genesis. At the same time it sums up what both Jews and Christians believe. “God created the universe and everything in it.”
When the book of Genesis was written as with all Biblical books it was not intended as a book of science. It was written as a book of faith intended to be understood by all people from the most ancient of days to the present time.
Had the writer attempted to write the book in modern scientific terms the readers prior to our generation and many in our generation would not have understood it.
The book of Genesis simply states “God created the heavens and the earth” how it was created, be it through the big bang, through evolution over millions of years, or in six twenty-four hour days is unimportant.
The only important fact is “God created the heavens and the Earth.”
That being said, the Bible points out that there is evidence of God saying,
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
 night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
                                                                         Psalm 19:1-3.
The way I see it is the perfection of the universe from the largest galaxy to the smallest subatomic particle speaks of a divine creator. For we live in a universe that is designed in such a way that it makes it possible for we as human beings to exist. I for one cannot believe this is simply by chance.
Thus the choice is up to you. Do you believe there is a God who created the universe and everything in it or not?
Please think about it.
