Praise the Lord
Now I speak here as someone living with all the freedoms and peace North America has to offer. Which is all I can speak of as this is were I live.
Good Christians spend a fair amount of time praying to God and a lot of time asking for things. We even spend a great deal of time listening to praise music. But do we spend enough time just praising the Lord on our own?
We need to praise God. Not only does it relax you and get your mind off you and on to God, but wonderful things can happen when we praise God ourselves and not just listen to Christian music.
The book of Acts gives us an example of praising God in a bad circumstance. When it records that Paul and Silas, after having a dispute with some influential people they,
“...had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.
Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.”Acts 16:23-25.
When they were praising God they had no idea that there would be a positive outcome. That they would be released and not only that, that their jailor would be saved. They simply praised God.
This is what we need to do. We need to spend five, ten, thirty, or more minutes simply praising God and singing to Him.
Why not take a few minutes now to praise God.
Please think about it.
“Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.”
Psalm 150.
Here is something every Christian should do, praise the Lord. Now I speak here as someone living with all the freedoms and peace North America has to offer. Which is all I can speak of as this is were I live.
