Christians sin

Christians sin

“To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:9-14.

Do you humble yourself before God. Are you like the Pharisee in the above parable or like the tax collector?

The apostle Paul tells us,

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23.

Even Christians sin. As someone has said, “Christians are not perfect just progressing”

The apostle John reminds us,

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." 1John 1:9-10.

Thus my question to anyone claiming to be a believer in Christ Jesus is;

When was the last time you confessed your sin to God?

Please think about it.
