Loving as God loves

 Loving as God loves.

The apostle John wrote,

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

 God is love.

Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.”

                                                                          1John 4:16

Love is a very important part of the Christian life. In order to truly be a Christian you must love unconditionally.

Jesus when asked,

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"

Jesus replied: " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

This is the first and greatest commandment.

And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.'

All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40.

The apostle Paul defines true Christian love this way

“Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,

it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil

 but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails....

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.”

                                                                    1 Corinthians 13:4-8a,13.

Jesus speaking to his disciples said,

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34,35.

The apostle John states,

"If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother." 1John 4:20,21.

So the question becomes, If you consider yourself a Christian. A true believer in Christ Jesus. Do you love God, your family, friends, and foes unconditionally?

Please think about it.
