Is it foolishness?

 Is it foolishness?

The apostle Paul writes,

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.     Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation" Romans 5:6-11.

Christians believe that we cannot live a good enough life to get to heaven. God understood this after all God set the standard.

That being said Jesus told us,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already.” John 3:16,17.

Jesus came into this world to show in human terms how far God would go to reconcile man to himself. Jesus paid the price for all that we have ever done wrong by dying on the cross.

I know it sounds like foolishness even the apostle Paul noted,

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18.

That being said; If the message of the cross. The message of Jesus’ death and resurrection is foolishness then those who hear of Jesus have nothing to fear. On the other hand however if it is true... those who do not believe in Jesus need to the think very carefully about what they believe.

Please think about it.
